So you want to know Who’s That Girl? I come from a small community in Michigan that is surrounded by lakes and trees. It is quiet here and a hike from the hustle and bustle of the big shopping areas. I live with my high school sweetheart (husband) and my second son and his family. Early retirement has been good to us. You can usually find me in the kitchen checking my pantry and cookbooks looking for the next good thing to bake or rustle up. My door is always open, so knock and come on in for a taste of what’s cooking and a nice cup of fresh coffee. I love company and enjoy the feedback I get on my cooking, so don’t be shy and come hungry! I love anything chocolate, with popcorn or peanut butter. And I am over the top when a recipe includes caramel or candy bars. If something calls my attention I just HAVE to make it! Marilyn’s Treats was born in 2013 while having a marathon session of cookie baking. I hosted a Betty Crocker Toys For Tots Cookie Exchange and realized that all this baking was a bit harder than I remembered! It was much different than the occasional baking and cooking I had been doing for the last 40 years. As I jotted notes, changes, and trials and errors I smiled thinking I needed to share this! Thus, Marilyn’s Treats was born. I have started this blog with the purpose of making the wonderful recipes I find in magazines and on the web. I am a very seasoned baker, but I have much to learn about Recipe Writing. Being a bit handicapped also makes me include some style changes. Using a normal height countertop is hard when you need to be sitting down! This also makes me one messy baker, too! Contributions of recipe ideas, criticism of both good and bad (but in a polite way, please) is greatly appreciated. Thank You! I enjoy writing my blog and knowing when other people comment that they like my recipes. I always try to put a spin on what is trending to make my recipes unique. I would also love my readers to share their favorites, too. I can put a link to your site so others can find it. I am learning all about healthy cooking so my blog will have a good mix of foods to try. As I move along my journey to eating better and changing my lifestyle I hope you will follow along and join me! You are never too old to learn new habits. I also love helping people and to promote others that blog. Parties, pointers to excellent tutorials and giveaways are also an integral part of this blog. Please be sure and visit those links and participate in a few fun events!
