Strawberry Cream Cheese Bread
I saw this recipe for Strawberry Cream Cheese Bread and I immediately knew I would be making it.
The strawberries in the garden are just starting to get ripe and sweet and I have some cream cheese in the refrigerator that needs to be used up.
I am going my my sister’s home this weekend and I am going to take her a nice warm loaf.
Don’t you just love when someone stops by with a great homemade item still warm from the oven?
It has been a while since I have been able to see her. I look forward to putting the loaf on her porch and calling her from the car.
Her 70th birthday is coming up in a few weeks.
And since we will have to celebvrate in a new way, I thought giving her the bread ahead of the drive by celebration would make her feel a bit more like celebrating.
My sister enjoys my baking and is always lughingly asking if I have made anything new.
These are the INGREDIENTS you will need:
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries chopped
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
These aree the INSTRUCTIONS for preparation:
- In a medium sized mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and cream cheese.
- Beat until fluffy.
- Slowly add in eggs one at a time, beating well.
- Mix in vanilla.
- In a separate medium sized mixing bowl, blend together flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder.
- Slowly mix together flour mixture and cream cheese mixture, just until combined.
- Add in buttermilk and stir just until combined.
- Carefully fold in strawberries.
- Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool before removing from pan and slicing.
I made this bread for my own family ahead of time and they loved it!
It wasn’t overly sweet and that appealed to my husband.
If the dessert isn’t pie he usually politely refuses and waits for his ice cream.
But I know his shenanigans. I catch him in the kitchen later with a knife. He always says he is “straightening the edge.” Ummm, ok.
my son thought the bread was flavorful and was surprised that there were large pieces of strawberries.
The bread stayed moist and stayed in its form as it was sliced.
My granddaughter added a bit of strawberry jam to her piece. She promptly asked for permission to try another piece with butter.
I think all in all the Strawberry Cream Cheese Bread was a huge hit.
I can’t wait to hear the reviews from my sister and her famliy.
Please let me know if you give this recipe a try. Let me know of any changes you make to the recipe so I can try them too!

Good morning Marilyn, Do you know I don’t think I have ever baked a cake with fresh strawberries actually in the cake, so I am really excited to try your recipe. As I live in England I will have to wait a couple of months before strawberries are in season, but it is so worth the wait to make your cake. I am really looking forward to baking it.
With warmest wishes
Daphne
When you finally get the chance Daphne please come back and let me know how it turned out! Have a lovely week.
That sounds so delicious Marilyn. The buttermilk must make it so rich and filling too. I’m pinning so my lovely daughter can make us some next weekend.

I have to check out your recipe for Pork Chops, My Husband thinks the’re Manna from Heaven, so I need a new way to prepare my Manna! Thanks for Sharing, Donna (I’ll be sharing these goodies with others)
Welcome to my kitchen Donna! Glad you found me and like the bread. The pork chops are too die for! Just make sure they are center cut and they will cook through and stay moist and soft. You may want to season them to suit you. I didn’t put that in the directions as I get enough salt from the crackers. Your Orange Drop Cookies sound so good. I hope you find that recipe soon! Have a great day!
Marilyn, let’s try this again. Your strawberry cream cheese bread looks and sounds fantastic. The ingredients in this bread sound like they would come together so nicely. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you so much for sharing.

Yum! I have tried to grow strawberries, but it is just so hot here it doesn’t work. I do always have strawberries freeze dried and ready to go, so I’m going to try this! #happynowlinkup
Here in Michigan strawberries do quite well. For a lot of other fruits and veggies our growing season is too short. The freeze dried will work too! Have a great day!
This looks yummy!! Might have to try it.. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Vicki. I hope you do give it a try. Have a great day!
