This delicious homemade recipe always gets so much praise from friends and family. Make sure that you make enough, because it’s very easy to come back for second servings! Food truly is one of lifes joys. This salad is chock full of all the garden’s treasures. The addition of Italian seasonings and feta cheese make this a must on your banquet table.
This classic spinach salad is made with a traditional bacon dressing. The warm dressing is made with bacon drippings, vinegar, and sugar. The heat of the dressing wilts the spinach leaves and gives the spinach salad a wonderfully delicate sweet and sour flavor. The salad is garnished with sliced hard cooked eggs and crumbled bacon and potato slices. It gets some extra crunch from the red onion and radishes. It’s a simple salad with big flavor. See the variations for some add-in suggestions and ideas.
This Grapefruit and Avocado Salad delivers a great new flavor combination. You might not think of grapefruit and avocado as a great pairing but they really are. Grapefruit brings a sour and sweet taste to the salad. Avocado adds a creamy mildness that isn’t overpowered by the grapefruit. Put them in a salad together and you can have the taste of summer any time of the year. The honey-lemon dressing drizzled on top adds just enough sweetness to balance the grapefruit but not drown it out. And the honey lemon dressing is the glue that holds it all together.
