Come and see what I will be cooking up on Marilyns Treats this week!
This is what I featured the week of 12-16 to 12-20 on my blog. On Tuesday morning was my Egg Nog Pie. Wednesday was my traditional Sugar Plum Fairy Iced Cookies. And wrapping up the fourth week of Christmas baking is My step mom’s Applesauce Fruit Cake. Enjoy!
If you missed what I served up last week please click Serving This Week 12-9 to 12-13.
Vanilla pudding, egg nog, milk, vanilla and rum flavoring make this pie a wonderful selection for the holiday.
This pie is a great one to create a family tradition by serving at Christmas or the New Year.
The cold and snowy season lends itself to having egg nog on hand and a little nutmeg sprinkled on top. The addition of the rum flavoring is just the flavor the egg nog pie needs to make it a part of season!
If you love the tradition of serving Egg Nog during this Holiday Season then this pie is right up your alley. It is an answer to that burning question of how to use up any left over egg nog. Well, in my home there isn’t much leftover of anything so we need to always have extra on hand.
A dessert for when family and friends visit is always something you need to prepare. So why not just prepare this no bake pie to have on hand? Well, you do need to heat your ingredients in a sauce pan but there is no need to use the oven!
Enjoy!
Sugar Cookies, Cream Cheese Icing and Sprinkles are a combination that is tasty any time of year.
I love to decorate cookies, but I am a very messy creative. Drop cookies are my favorite.
There is just something about rolling that dough and dropping the spoonful onto the baking sheet that makes me feel I am a part of the season.
Then spreading the icing and adding the final touches warms my heart and makes me smile. I am always glad no one is watching and wondering what is going through my mind.
Listening to the Holiday music makes me want to sing, but my family is very glad when I decide not to ruin the moment!
A lifetime of memories have been made in that kitchen. Mostly good and some not so good but worth making wishes upon.
Do you wish upon memories? My favorite wish is for the sugar fairy and Santa’s elves to come and do the dishes. What is yours?
Not all fruitcake is a doorstop in disguise!
This recipe takes fruit cake to a whole new level.
This is the only fruitcake I will eat. My stepmom gave me this recipe. She has been giving this fruitcake to me for Christmas for 25 years.(no, I don’t have them all stored away.) LOL.
Even if you hate fruitcake you have to try this Applesauce Fruitcake. What more can you ask for? Dried fruit, nuts, it is better than stollen! Oh, did I mention there is rum? Enjoy! #fruit # nuts #rum #christmas For more apple recipes see An Apple A day.

Egg Nog Pie – YUMMMMM that sounds delicious. My kids would love the cookies. We’re looking forward to making our sugar cookies hopefully this weekend. Got to have them in time for Santa 😉 Happy Holidays.
I hope you get all your baking done. Just remember to rest and take care of yourself.Once you feel tired you are way past resting. Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!
They all sound so perfect for the season. My older two boys drink egg nog so fast we never have leftovers either…. but they are the only two in the house that drink it.
I personally dont like egg nog. But everyone else here does!! Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!
