Red White and Blue French Toast is a patriotic spin on a traditional french toast breakfast. With the addition of fresh fruit even mom can be happy to serve a little syrup on top.

Red White and Blue French Toast- Traditional french toast is always a great meal and quick to make. Turn a lazy weekend morning into a family get together with this tasty Red, White and French Toast breakfast. Ingredients

  • 6 thick slices bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg optional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • salt to taste
  • blueberres and strawberries to garnish
  • whipped cream optional

Instructions

  • Beat together egg, milk, salt, desired spices and vanilla.
  • Heat a lightly oiled griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides. Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden. Serve hot.

      Thanks Nikki. I am totally sidelined and eating pb&j and Kix when someone is around to feed me. I am torturing myself going into my archives for posts and drooling over what I cannot have. My sugar loves me though. My muscles are getting toned and I think I have lost some weight too so I have to keep smiling. Could be worse. At least I am home and have a computer and tylenol! Oh and Dr said no surgery!! Glad you are seeing some light too. Enjoy your week.
