Now for the news around here.
Miss J and I (well mostly her) were able to put up all the Easter Decorations.
We bought a few new ones as really we had very few.
She chose to update the banner on our mantel. It is a very simple one made out of burlap. It simple says “He Is Risen” in white letters. And between the words are a a purple cross.
She felt that a humble and to the point message was in order.
I love that kid.
She also found a small crucifix that has different Lenten scenes carved in different parts of the wood.
I told her that one deserved a special place in her room where she could keep it displayed year round.
She put it on the wall where her seat for her desk was positioned to see it anytime she was there for school or FB friend time.
She also created some cling for the doorway and painted them. Those are Spring flowers, bunnies and owls.
All in all she did a great job and our home is ready to celebrate.
My meager contribution is a nice orange leafed and glittered poinsettia.
It is actually from Christmas but the plant seems to like where it lives and is still full of leaves.
It is amazing it even made it to Christmas.
I have a brown thumb and even “kill” plastic plants. LOL.
Guess my ignoring the plant was key. Anyway that was my sole contribution. Miss J did all the rest.
She is becoming a DIY Queen just like her mother. There is nothing that Mrs A can’t do. And my entire basement is testimony to that fact.
I will end here as this was the most memorable part of my week.
Please let me know all you have been doing to brighten your upcoming days.
I would love to hear and also get some new ideas.
