Mother’s Day will be celebrated with in my home with 4 generations of family at the table. We will have an extra plate to represent the family members of previous generations not here to join in our day. We count our blessings in being of good health and the ability to honor those present.
This year, as in previous years, the women are being treated to a banquet of delicious foods and treats to enjoy. The conversation and food will be plentiful. We will remember those that are not as fortunate as we are. Donations of food, money, prayers and our time have been made in their names. We will forget no one.
The men and children will also be included in the gifts given to each other. They are spared the chores of cleaning house, shopping for and preparing the meals. (Of course brunch, dinner and appetizers would be expected.) The table will not be full of dishes needing to be cleared, washed and put away. This is a win, win. Don’t you agree? 😉
The table will be occupied by the women as they chat, reminisce and rejoice in the blessings enjoyed again this year. The men will be reclining in front of the TV enjoying the game and a beer or drink. (Which they will get themselves). The children will be happy running around as they irritate each other to see who will be in “charge” of activities. Laughter and love will fill my home and technology will be tucked away and left unplugged for the day.
I wish all Mothers, daughters, and their families a Happy Mother’s Day and hope you will enjoy family and friends while making memories for all to share in the years to come!
Just a note to all reading this. I will be celebrating 40 years of marriage to my best friend and soul mate on the 21st. Most of this week I will be unplugged so email will be opened late. I have scheduled all my normal tasks so if I miss one or two forgive me and I will take care of the blog when I get back. Please don’t hesitate to contact someone else associated with a party or group.
See you all next week and enjoy your families and friends!
