Lil Leprechaun Snack Mix
It’s that time of year when I bring out my St Paddy’s recipes!
This dump and go snack is No Bake!
Only 5 ingredients and 5 minutes from first thought to snacking out the bowl!
I was looking through the pnatry trying to clean up all those snack bags with only a few odds and ends in them.
I should never try that when I ma hungry.
Or bored. Or cold. Or hungry, bored and cold!
I used dark chocolate m&m’s since they are more heart smart than the milk chocolate.
I have used yogurt covered raisins, all types of cashews and peanuts for this type of mix.
Other times I just grab and cereal and different types of pretzels to add in the bowl.
I have even used mini chocolate bars leftover from Halloween!
The beauty of this snack mix is anything will do as far as ingredients.
For me that includes sweet, salty, and nutty.
And this mix fit the bill!
If you watch portion sizes you could even call this snack a healthy snack treat!
I tried it to eat just a handful and FAILED!
My guys just couldn’t stop eating these this mix. It is that good.
These are the INGREDIENTS you will need:
- 12 oz box Chex Cereal I used rice
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted dry roast peanuts
- 1 1/2 cups roasted and salted whole cashews
- 2 cups pretzels I used waffle shaped pretzels
- Mint M&M’s light and dark green M&M’s, or Andes mints, unwrapped
These are the INSTRUCTIONS for preparation:
- Combine all ingredients in the largest bowl you have. Mix together well.
- Serve in plastic cups, snack bowls, or a cleverly decorated whatever!
Next time, I am going to refill prefill the bowls and put a clip on the rest!
Let me know what you think!

Marilyn, I love snacky foods that I can take with me while I’m on the go. Which seems like lately I’m more on the go than I am at home. So this would be perfect. Everything in your recipe is gluten free, or can be, so I’m even more excited about this. At Aldi’s I can get to gluten free candy similar to M&Ms and gluten-free pretzels so I’m going to whip this up soon. I love quick and I love snacky so this is right up my alley.
I am glad you can find a use for this snack! It is addictive. Have a quiet and lovely Easter.

oo this looks tasty! I’ve been looking for new snacking alternatives! although I think I will learn from your mistake and pre-fill the bowls because this is the kind of thing we would accidentally eat all of :p
For me it doesn’t matter what the snack is Charlotte. It either goes into a very small bowl or no one else gets any!
Isn’t a good trail mix always a win at every party! Love that you put together salty and sweet! Yum!
Ilka, I love trail mix. And there are just those special times that sweet and salty is the only combination that will work. Have a lovely day!
I made this today for my students as part of our math unit. Minus the peanuts because of allergie. They think a leprechaun brought all the stuff. Haha!
That is so cute Michelle! I am glad it worked out. I have sometimes used raisins or yogurt coverd cranberries also.
