Homemade Quick Cocktail Sauce
Homemade Cocktail Sauce can be made in just 5 minutes with 5 ingredients that are already in your kitchen. Why not eat fresh?
I love a good cocktail sauce when I am serving shrimp, scallops, clams or other seafood.
Whether the seafood is baked, cajun style, blackened, broiled or fried doesn’t matter in the long run.
This recipe compliments each style. And I am a dipper.
Whatever sauce I need, whether it be tartar, cocktail, BBQ or ketchup my entire meal needs to use the same sauce.
Any starch I am serving with the seafood gets dressed the same way. I guess it is my OCD.
Store bought Cocktail Sauce gets shoved way back in my fridge and is promptly forgotten.
Forgotten for so long I never remember I have any. And another bottle is purchased. And that bottle soon joins the other.
So why take up that fridge space for something that sticks to the bottle and lid so hard you can;t get it open?
And besides that. Have you ever tried to pronounce half the ingredients listed on the label?
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 Cup Ketchup

- Worcestershire sauce To taste
- 1 Small Lemon
- tobasco sauce to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- In small bowl combine ketchup, horseradish, a dash of Worcestershire, a squirt of lemon, and a dash of Tabasco sauce. Chill and serve.
As I am getting older I am getting wiser in the choices I make.
Cocktail Sauce is just to easy to put together at home.
It stays fresh. I have just the amount I need. And I control the ingredients that are in the recipe.
In these days of having everything conveniently in had we need to break the cycle.
Get healthy. Stay happy. And save that extra fridge space for a treat you want to enjoy.
Dessert, maybe?

I just put shrimp on my next online grocery pickup order. I haven’t decided how to prepare it yet, but if I steam them I’ll make some cocktail sauce much like yours. – Margy
