Beef Stew is a comfort meal served by many families.
When I was little my grandmother always hosted Sunday dinner. It was a tradition to take her to church and then return to her home to enjoy a warm home cooked meal.
I have fond memories of those dinners.
It was guaranteed the entire family sat at the table.
With my father working all hours at his job, my mom frequently gor dinner together.
And to serve The meal ready and warm for my dad She often used her Slow Cooker.
Whenever I prepare this Crock Pot Beef Stew form my own family I can always see bot my mom and grandmother at the counter dishing out the meal.
If you need a seasoning mix see Homemade Beef Stew Seasoning Mix.

Everything looked great until you recomend using a Plastic liner in the crock pot. Google search “estrogenic”. Wonder why 80% of men and women are all starting to look like pregnant women in the third trimester? Plastic. It is literally giving everyone a daily dose of estrogen mimicking chemicals combined with the E3 female birth control drugs that have seeped into our water supply. Plastic might seem like it is useful, but when you consider its toxic effects on your endocrin system, it’s not. Stop being lazy and just scrub the crockpot.
Thank you Chris for the compliments on the recipe as well as sharing your concerns. I am sure you want to educate consumers. For this I applaud your efforts. I personally feel that “being lazy” though is a stone you shouldn’t throw. I dislike using soaps that also are not good practice for the environment and wasting water on tasks that can be better handled in another way. I did research your concerns and also found some data that went beyond. Your ideas do have merit, but I would like to share this paragraph from an article you can see at https://www.leaf.tv/articles/what-are-the-dangers-of-plastic-crock-pot-liners/
“According to the Food and Drug administration (FDA), a minute amount of chemicals from Crock-Pot liners may migrate to food during the cooking process, especially if exposed to high temperatures for a long period of time. However, the FDA has determined, based on current data, the amount of chemical migration poses no health risk. The FDA sets forth acceptable tolerances for contamination from chemical migration. Recent concerns about the dangers of Bisphenol A (BPA) have prompted the FDA to reconsider its use. Many states like Minnesota have banned products that contain BPA; therefore, according to Good Housekeeping, there is little or no risk of exposure to BPA from plastic Crock-Pot liners. Companies that sell Crock-Pot liners will display the “FDA Approved” seal on the packaging to reassure consumers that the product has been thoroughly tested and approved as safe for use with food preparation.”
My crock pot liners do not contain BPA.

Perfect Jennifer! I love this stew and just know you will too. I use my crock pot and microwave sometimes more than my oven. I am all for quick and easy most of the week. Enjoy!
Sounds yummy! We usually do ours in a dutch oven. Thanks for sharing the recipe with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
I have used a pressure cooker in the past. The dutch oven method sounds god too. Thanks Jann!
Sounds yummy but it’s too hot here to think of stew yet! My husband wouldn’t be happy if I tried to pull that one over on him but I’m always looking for a good beef stew recipe.
I like it on the dreary and rainy days. Fortunately here in Michigan, that can be anytime. AC in the morning and heat on at night. Enjoy!
I love my crock pot! It’s my best friend and I can say I am never looking back! Meals are so easy to do and I love that the entire family can enjoy the yummy goodness! This recipe seems pretty straightforward and easy. I can’t wait to try!

Like you, I love using my crock pot. This looks like a tasty dinner, and yes, it can wait until you get to it!
Crock pots are my saving grace. I am glad to hear you enjoy yours as much as I do. Enjoy your week!
We do love crock pot recipes at our house and this stew looks marvelous. I can almost smell it wafting through my kitchen right now!
This is my fallback meal when I am going to have a tough day. 10 minutes to throw together and done when we get home. All 5 of us can eat when we are ready and there is almost no clean up! Enjoy Amy.
Well, at the rate of whats going on with me. Sometimes I think I won’t cope up with the demands of everyday as I am working, a mom and a wife plus we have a pet cat here. This crock pot beef stew is worth it. There are three things I learned from you. First, chocolate peanut butter combo is everlasting…ha ha ha! Second, pie will save me all the time. Third, crock pot stew is a versatile choice of preparation as always. Thank you Marilyn and have a great weekend
You are so cute Mareliz. I totally understand the pace and challenges of being a working woman. But remember that with all that is required of you, taking time to celebrate YOU is the most important. When you are not 100% the battle to get things done and choose what can wait is already lost. I am glad you find some comfort in my blog. My theory is, the “most” isn;t always the “best”. Quick, easy and healthy is always #1! Enjoy your week.
This sounds (and looks) delicious! I always love crock pot meals because they are so quick and easy to prepare!
Thanks Kim! They are also my favorite. Since I discovered the liners, the cleanup is just wipe with a soapy sponge! Enjoy and thanks for commenting.
